Data Deletion – EdgeHabit
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This Data Deletion Policy explains how you can request deletion of your EdgeHabit account, personal data and trading journal data, and how we handle such requests. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy (Sections on “Data retention”, “Broker disconnection”, “Account deletion and data deletion” and “Your rights”) and our Terms & Conditions (Section “Data retention, deletion, and disconnection”).
1. Your right to request deletion
Subject to applicable law and our legitimate business needs, you may request deletion of:
- Your EdgeHabit account and profile information.
- Personal data we hold about you that is no longer necessary for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
- Trading journal entries, analytics and related records stored in your EdgeHabit workspace.
You can request deletion using in‑app controls (where available) or by contacting us from your registered email at [email protected] with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”.
Deleting your account from the Clerk account controls triggers deletion of the linked active EdgeHabit database records, encrypted broker connections, uploaded files, journal and trade data, psychology and agent data, billing records and user-only cache files. If automated deletion cannot be completed, the signed webhook is retried and you may also contact us at the address above.
2. Verification and processing of deletion requests
We may ask for information to verify your identity and confirm which data you wish to delete. After verification, we will delete or anonymise eligible data within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, subject to the retention exceptions listed below and any technical limitations.
Deletion may not be immediate across backups, logs and archives, but such retained data will be protected and removed according to normal retention cycles unless we are legally required to keep it longer.
3. Legal, regulatory and security‑related retention
Even after a deletion request, we may retain certain data where reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, audit or regulatory obligations.
- Prevent fraud and abuse, investigate security incidents and enforce our Terms.
- Resolve disputes, handle chargebacks and respond to lawful requests.
- Maintain security and incident‑response logs for at least the periods required by cyber‑security or other applicable directions.
Such retained data will be access‑restricted and used only for these limited purposes, then deleted or anonymised once the relevant retention period expires.
4. Broker disconnection vs. data deletion
Public broker sync is currently coming soon. If a broker-approved integration is later enabled, disconnecting it will stop future syncing and delete or render unusable the stored authorization data for that connection, subject to legal and short-lived operational retention. Previously imported trades, journal entries, analytics or derived records may remain in your EdgeHabit account unless you separately delete them or request account/data deletion.
If you want both broker credentials and imported data removed, please use the available deletion controls or clearly specify this in your deletion request.
5. Effect of deletion and backup copies
Data deletion is irreversible for the affected account and records. Once your account and journal data are deleted or anonymised:
- You will lose access to historical trades, notes, metrics and analytics stored in EdgeHabit.
- Any automations or personalised features depending on that data may stop working.
Backups and archives may continue to exist for a period as part of ordinary backup cycles, but we will not use them for active processing of your account once deletion is completed.
If you wish to keep a copy of your trading records, please export or download your data (where available) before submitting a deletion request.
